"Healing From the Inside Out"
This workshop offered by Mary Ellen Ricks, RYT®, CMT, will focus on how Restorative Yoga can provide you with the tools needed to cope with a difficult phase in life, the loss of a loved one, physical limitations, and more. Relax and renew your entire being with this very passive yet powerful practice of gentle movement, breath techniques, and supported postures. Space is limited to ten participants.

Restorative Yoga Series
Deepen your spiritual practice with these special Restorative Yoga Classes which will each focus on different chapters from “Living Your Yoga” by Judith Lasater. Letting Go, Being Fearless, Practicing Patience, and other subjects will be addressed along with supportive postures, breath awareness and meditation.

Vinyasa Yoga to Live Drumming
Experience the rhythm of drumming, breath, movement and energy with this Mixed Level Yoga Class. Live drumming performed by percussionist Chuck Wood (please visit our Instructors/Therapist page for Chuck’s bio and information on his world music groups Damaru and Ghandharva).

Being able to get up and down on a yoga mat is not neccessary to enjoy the benefits of a healthy yoga practice.
Chronic conditions, knee and back limitations, aging and balance often stop a person from trying yoga and they should not; a chair as a yoga prop is an amazing tool. Balancing, bending, relaxation!
Already a Yogi/Yogini? Learn how to use a chair so you may do yoga no matter where you are!

This workshop will explore the various forms of yoga practices and philosophies, giving an introduction to those new to yoga and offering a
deepening of practice to experienced yogis.

Yoga Basics
This class is designed to give the newcomer an introduction to the basic concepts of yoga. Learn some of the history of yoga, the anatomy of breath, experience simple breath awareness techniques and fundamental postures, easy meditation and the icing on the cake….deep relaxation! You will be comfortable joining an ongoing Beginner Level Yoga Class after this workshop.
$20 per person, limited to 10 participants.
Simply Relax - a Restorative Yoga Experience
September 12 Class will be held at Soraci Physical Therapy.
This is a gentle, relaxing class in which the body is completely supported with blankets, bolsters, straps, and other props in each posture. By using the props, the muscles of the body begin to soften and accept the postures, thereby allowing a deeper release. This practice benefits the student on many levels. On a physical level, tension is released and space and openness are created in the body; on a mental level, the mind is quieted and focused; on an emotional level a sense of well being and ease is achieved. Participants will also explore supported pranayama, visualization, deep relaxation, and seated meditation to integrate the practice.

Private Restorative Yoga Sessions
The many benefits of restorative yoga include:
- Openness in the ribcage, shoulders and chest which increase breath capacity
- Muscle flexibility by fully supporting the body in different asanas allowing for a deeper stretch
- Deep relaxation, release of tension and tiredness
- A quiet, calm mind
Private sessions are designed specifically for the indivdual’s needs and include alignment adjustments, gentle massage, and deep relaxation. These sessions are appropriate for the experienced practitioner as well as the beginner and those with knee and back problems.

Yoga and Hiking at Columcille Megalithic Park, Bangor, PA
We will experience together:
- postural practice “pondside” or within the stone circle (weather permitting)
- hike up to the outdoor labyrinth for a walking meditation
- free time hike
- chanting and meditation in the chapel
- lunch below a tent near the stone circle
Bring a bag lunch and water. We’ll meet in the Panther Valley Mall parking lot by the old Foxy’s at 10am.
